A day of contrasting form saw the ladies take victory with an outstanding performance by Jessica Coulson (Stockport) in 1st place in 33.02 (PB). Jess was followed home by Rosie Smith (Durham) 3rd overall (2Nd in the Inter area race) in 34.23. On her debut for the North Louise Insley (Heanor) Vet 40 finished 9th in 38.25.

In the men’s race the North struggled for form. A combination of fixture congestion (GNR and BMC 10k at Stretford) saw us finishing 4th for our first time in my memory. On his debut for the North Josh Norman finished 5th overall (4th in Inter Area) in a time of 31.19. Antony Ford (Sale) returning from injury had a disappointing run finishing 11th in 31.54, Ant was followed by a tired Ben Riddell (just home from a hard month in the Mountains of Austria) in 14th place in 32.20. Ash Chambres on his North debut brought the team home in 18th place in 34.09.
Whilst the men’s result is a disappointment, these boys stepped up to the mark for the North, when others couldn’t, Thank you.
